Like it or not, the season of the pumpkin has returned. And while treacly “coffee” beverages at your favorite chains get all the attention, here at Nutrafol, we’re more interested in the real thing: pure, unadulterated pumpkin purée.

Today, we’re going to show you how to whip up a nutritious Nutrafol Pumpkin Pie Spice Smoothie that’s high fiber, has no refined sugar, and tastes like autumn in a glass.

Why pumpkin, you ask?

With under 50 calories and only nine net carbs, one cup of pumpkin purée has 16% of your daily recommended potassium, 19% of the vitamin C your body needs, and a whopping 245% of immune-boosting vitamin A. Best of all, one cup of pumpkin has seven grams of fiber — as much as two slices of bread (but with way less carbs) — and will keep you feeling satiated until lunchtime.

Combining the health benefits of pumpkin with the hair boosting power of Nutrafol makes this smoothie an absolute MUST on your fall breakfast playlist. (Plus, the turmeric in our formula blends deliciously with the pumpkin and ginger notes in the recipe below.) And just FYI: Our capsules are designed to open cleanly and seamlessly so you can empty them into smoothies, soups, or whatever your heart desires.

Recipe: Nutrafol Pumpkin Pie Spice Smoothie

3 tbsp. of *pumpkin purée
1 cup of your favorite milk
1/2 an apple, cored
4-6 medjool dates, pitted
1/8 tsp. fresh ginger
1 tbsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 pinch salt
Handful of ice

Add all ingredients to a blender and blitz on high for 2-3 minutes or until the dates are broken down. Top with additional pumpkin pie spice or a dollop of coconut cream, which is a great counterpart to Nutrafol as our formula absorbs best when taken with a healthy fat.

*If using store-bought pumpkin, avoid cans labeled “pumpkin pie filling,” as they usually have added sugars. Always check the ingredients list to be sure.

Cheers to fall weather and good hair days only!
