The first thing Sally noticed was seeing more shedding in the shower. Immediately, she knew what was going on. “With these hormonal shifts you notice changes throughout your body,” Sally says. “For me, I noticed it mostly in my hair.”
Then, one evening as she was getting ready for an event, she noticed her hair wouldn’t sit the way it usually did. Sally and her husband Peter, an architect, are local fixtures in their community. They attend events regularly, people know their faces, and they occasionally end up in local publications. Being seen is part of their life. And when her hair stopped cooperating, the self-consciousness followed.
“When this moment happened, it really did affect my confidence,” she says. “I noticed that I would feel self-conscious. I would spend more and more time trying to create hairdos and outfits that would make me feel more confident in the public eye.”
A haircut was the final straw. Her stylist of 25 years noticed a thinning area and told Sally she’d probably have to start parting her hair differently to cover it. That was the moment Sally knew she needed to take action. “Now is the time,” she thought, “for me to address my hair thinning, and find an option that supports my overall arc of health, wellness, and aging fiercely and gracefully."
Sally reached out to her “tribe,” a circle of women she trusts to ask about their experiences with hair thinning. One name kept coming up: Nutrafol Women’s Balance. She wanted something science-backed, made with vitamins, minerals, and natural ingredients, and made specifically for where she was in life.
